Everyone keeps saying that this is the worst winter they’ve seen in years. I’m not sure that I believe them anymore. :-P This weekend was the 6th straight snow storm. No mas!! The snow yesterday wasn’t too bad, only a few more inches. Last weekend, however, the forecasted 2 inches turned into almost 10. We had planned to go to the Denver Art Museum that day, which we did, although it was a little scary getting there. It was really cool, but next time we want to take a guided tour. I was happy we finally made it there, I’ve been wanting to go since we moved here. After that, we stopped at one of the malls downtown to shop. Everything was great until Kaira tried to jump out of her stroller while we were on the escalator at Macy’s. So after that near heart attack, we were done shopping for the day. :-)

The next day, Monday, Chris had to call into work because there was no possible way to get his car out with the snow. We actually tried later on that day…only to spend a long time pushing it out again and again. Wendy called in to work the next day so that Chris could take my car (and then she could take the kiddos to school). We need an SUV. :-P Of course, the second we get one, it’ll never snow again.

Thursday I had just taken Whitney to school and Kaira and I stopped at Target for a few minutes. On the way home, an idiot decided to hit us. :-( Everyone was fine, but my poor car is hurt. *sigh* I was actually most annoyed by the idiot lady, who was extremely apologetic…that is until the police showed up, then she really just couldn’t remember quite what happened. Grrrr. The accident was completely her fault (I was turning left on a green arrow, she was turning right and came all the way over into my lane, crossing 2 others to get there, and ran right into me). When I first talked to her, she said the sun was in her eyes and that she didn’t see me, but once the police were there, she suddenly remembers signaling to change lanes and blah blah blah. I was pissed. Plus I was holding Kaira, who had finally fallen asleep, and my arm was about to break. So since there were no witnesses and we had ‘conflicting stories’ the police didn’t give any tickets, but just wrote up the report. I got a call from her insurance agency the next day though and she had admitted that she hit me in the left lane, so they’re going to pay for everything, including a rental car. I’m still pissed though, she deserved a ticket. :-P

Kaira turned 6 months old on Friday. She’s growing up too fast! I took her to the doctor for her check-up and found out that she’s growing like a weed. :-P She had actually gone up so fast that they double checked her to make sure it was right. She went from the 5% last time in both height and weight, to the 50% and 25% this time! Woohoo. We were kind of worried after her last appointment, because she was almost off their charts (on the low end) but now she’s completely back on ’schedule’ and doing great. She had to get her shots again too, poor baby. I hate, hate, hate watching those. She did good though, and no more until 12 months.

Saturday we had Kaira’s pictures taken, which I’ll also post. They were awesome! We had a SUPER hard time picking out which ones to get…and we still ended up with way too many. So…everyone should be expecting a lot of pictures from us. :-P We also looked at a house in the afternoon, which was in the absolute perfect location. It was a foreclosure, so the bank owns it now, and its priced way below its appraised value. Ummm, the problem is that it sort of needs a lot of cosmetic work. Like, a lot, a lot. Chris isn’t sure that he wants to take on that kind of a challenge…I may, but it would be a LOT of work. I liked the space, and the floor plan, and I can see its potential, but I can also see the annoyance of fixing everything. We’ll keep looking, we’re not in a huge rush yet. ;-)
